Caught the M's game at Safeco today...I bolted after Palmeiro hit his 2nd home run to put Texas up 10-0 in the 7th...

Speakin' of bolts, I hit a Moyer-esque 70mph on the radar gun at the speed pitch booth...woo-hoo!

Nailed a $515 trifecta today at Emerald, on the 7th race of the Del Mar simulcast...yeah! Won it on a $1 tri. box bet that totalled $6...

Back from mobility training...real memorable experience, it was. Got to dig foxholes, customize 'em, go on patrols, and hunt for snipers w/ a laser equipped M-16. Granted, the shots weren't live, but felt authentic nonetheless. That distinct "pop, pop, pop" and seein' the OPSEC sniper drop is an exhilaratingly beautiful thing...

Speaking of beautiful, an Airman gal I met for the first time through this training is just that. She currently attends the UW, and is majoring in Political Science...the same major I graduated w/ from the UW in 2002. It's hard to pinpoint her beauty, all I can say is that she's alluring to me, and at times I found myself struggling for what to say to her if we ran into each other, distracting me a bit from the duties at hand. There isn't a doubt in my mind that would've gotten an "outstanding performer" award if she hadn't been there. She actually got sick during the first part of the field portion of the exercise, and wasn't there for the last 2 days. It turned out that she started to get dehydrated during the chemical warfare scenario, and ended up having to be put on IV's. My adoration for her just skyrocketed when I found out she was screamin' her lungs out as the docs were puttin' them in her arm, 'cause she didn't want to be left out of the action...

Beauty, brains, athleticism, humility, and a generous dose of heart..."killer" combination that is. She's all of that, and then some. Her BF definitely hit the jackpot in havin' a gal like her...

Another memorable part of the training was being captured as a POW...twice! Think about gettin' dragged through the Oregon woods in the dead of night, forced to lay on a cold concrete floor w/ hands behing head and elbows down for 30 mins. while bein' interrogated and "pissed" on, enduring the same thing while laying on both sides, blocking the ridicule and ludicrous threats out of your mind [still curious as to who "animal f***er" is, an entity referred to numerous times], havin' a *bright* arse light shined straight into your face...times 2. Except the 2nd time I decided to smart aleck one of their questions involving flutter kicks and a "lake", an ended up physically payin' for it for about an hour, switching off between push ups, sit ups, flutter kicks, rapid fire "hittin' the deck and gettin' up," jumping jacks, squats, diamond push-ups...

"Sounds like fun"...hahahaha...

And it was. =]

Earlier this morning, got up at around 5:30am to catch the Wimbledon final and marveled at a virtuoso performance by up-and-comer Roger Federer, who took the championship in a 3-set, 7-6 6-2 7-6 win against Mark Philippoussis. I rooted for Mark 'cause he's an ol' favorite of mine from back in HS tennis days, when I used to emulate his "Scud-missile" serve, and plus I've got a soft spot for the underdog. It's good to see Mark back in this spot, after he'd been confined to a wheelchair for 3 months. As the Aussies would say, "Good on ya, Mark."

In the afternoon, nailed a trifecta and a superfecta at Emerald, totalling around $120. Later, put in about 2 and a half hours of solid lifting and cardio at 24 fitness...

All in all, a good day...

CD's I've been listening to in the Accord...

Michelle Branch's, "Hotel Paper." Picked up this one 'cause I think Michelle's a hottie, not just 'cause of her visual allure, but also 'cause of her allure as an artist. To me, there's something about gals who can both tear it up and change it up on the guitar that I find irresistible. It's a great CD, not as "poppish" as her previous offerings, w/ a few of the songs reflecting an Alannis Morissette influence. From those songs, one could think she's a poor man's Alannis, but I think they're still a'ite. I dug more certain other songs on the CD such as "Hotel Paper" which had that extraordinary quality of being real soothing in their intimate subdued-ness...

Kelly Clarkson's, "Thankful." Great CD too. Kelly has that soothingly soulful, sultry voice that's equally as powerful and alluring...

I can sense what you're thinkin' at this point...Reg needs to find himself a GF. Yeah, like he's really gonna find a hybrid gal that looks like Kristin Kreuk, jams the guitar like Ms. Branch, has a tennis backhand as beautiful as Anna Kournikova and lethal as Justine Henin-Hardenne's, can hoop like Sue Bird, has the "sport intellect" of Fox Sports' Angie Arlati, the sexy hip-hop flava of Ashanti, topped of w/ a kick-arse sense of humor...ha, ha...

I'll meet her someday. For now, Gabrielle's a regular in my dreams...

Fun factoid:

I am 5'7" and 145 lbs. Japan's world undisputed hot dog eating champ Takeru Kobayashi is also 5'7", 145 lbs. [dog-less]. I find that strangely ironic and amusing...

Headed out to Northgate Mall yesterday, and Sue Bird was there shoppin' around. She's my favorite WNBA player, so I thought about approaching her and striking up a conversation, but couldn't conjure up the fortitude. Kinda kickin' myself now for not jumpin' on the opportunity...
