On to the QF's!...

Played in the 2nd round today, got the W by the tally of 6-3 6-1!
Pac-Asian 2005...

Won 1st round match, 6-4 6-4! Eric, my opponent, definitely didn't allow me to relax w/ shots that often kicked high out of my strike zone, making it hard to tee off fr. the baseline. Fortunately I'd been able to tee off just enough to pull out the victory. On to round 2!

Hawaii O-Five...

All I can say at this point is that I'll be sorely missin' this place once I'm back in Sea-Town. It might not hit me immediately, but it'll happen eventually. It's been a crackin' 2 wks., and to think that I'll actually be gettin' a cool chunk of scrilla fr. the IRS and the Air Force for being here, that's just a pretty bonus...

Here's a super / hyper quick run through of "Aloha" stuff I've experienced / done thus far and / or will miss in a few wks. or so:

1. Waikiki 'til 5AM Sun. [he, he] / 2. the picturesque beaches / 3. luaus / 4. food [Sam Choy's, 22 oz. steak!] / 5. boogie-boarding / 6. shopping at the IM in Waikiki & the swap meet @ Aloha Stadium / 7. the abnormally high concentration of gorgeous gals in 1 place [Waikiki!] / 8. gettin' a good foundation on learning how to swim & discovering that I *heart* swimmin' / 9. gettin' stung by a Portuguese Man-O-War / 10. the beautiful weather & environment / 11. flag-football & volleyball / 12. BBQ's / 13. the bonds of camaraderie that have developed among the ppl of our squadron that wouldn't otherwise exist / 14. the overall chillaxating atmosphere / 15. contemplating the freakishly high concentration of stunningly beautiful gals in 1 place... / 16. gettin' hit on by 2 of those stunningly beautiful gals in that place...

...priceless.
He, he... =p

KW, Episode VI...

Actually did 2 songs last night, Santana's Smooth along w/ the Bee Gees' Stayin' Alive. The ppl really dug both of my renditions, but Stayin' Alive especially stood out since it marked the 1st time I'd let my falsetto voice out for public scrutiny, hehe. I had fun performin' the song, even though I stumbled at certain spots 'cause i didn't fully know the song, so I ended up ad-libbing those parts. At the end, I thought to myself, "man, i royally jacked that song..." and told Anthony the DJ, "my bad for the crash and burn!" But to my surprise, he said "no, not at all Reg, that freakin' absolutely rocked, bro!" He then addresses the audience, exclaiming "nice job, Reg!" and they absolutely explode w/ applause! I walk back to my seat next to my buddy Josh, and some other folks walk over [mostly older, hehe] and tell me how they enjoyed my performance and how I was able to really capture the magic of the song, which they say is hard to do. Josh actually went so far as to say "dude, that by far was the performance of the night! Your falsetto was spot on-point, bro!" And all I could say / think
was "...dang, really? Up there I thought I was royally jackin' this song up!" And he was like, "no, not at all, that was awesome...you kicked major 'arse' up there!" I really felt all fuzzy inside hearin' this overwhelming positive feedback, especially since I wasn't expecting it at all. I guess success is funny like that, at times it can just fall onto your lap unexpectedly...

Oh yeah, if you're wonderin', no i didn't forget to post the lyrics of the song. It's just that the major cheese factor of the lyrics prevent me fr. broadcasting them to the "vast" expanses of the Blogger surfin' nation [all of you 2 ppl!] that have actually bothered to read up on my karaoke exploits lately, hehe...
