"Crash...into Reg?"

Took this goofy "Greek God" quiz. Turns out I'm half-crazy, half-frenetic...

My son, if your heart is wise,
then my heart will be glad;
my inmost being will rejoice
when your lips speak what is right.

Do not let your heart envy sinners,
but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord.
There is surely a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off.

"14, there's still time for you..."

This is the 13th of 13 straight days of bein' on the jobby-job. Granted, 2 of those days were super laid back at the AF Guard unit, but still...13 days. I'm definitely goin' to chillax for this next day-and-a-half. Then back to the lovely 60 hr. / wk. grind...

[*24 hr. fat-ness?]

As of this Mon., I'll officially be a patron of the super-plush D. Seattle 24 Fitness. It's 10 times nicer than the 1 I've been attending this past year in W. Seattle, equipped w/ a niftier equipment and a pool. It's ironic that I ran into homie Mel today who also just joined the club. I'm thinkin' it's a sign we should be lifting buddies. It's also cool 'cause I get free parking 24/7 since the jobby-job provides it...

[*get Smarty...]

Rootin' for Smarty Jones to win the elusive Triple Crown. He'll be the 1st horse to nail the Triple Crown since 1977's Seattle Slew if he can nail the 1 / one-half mile Belmont. He romped in the Preakness by 11 lengths, and all signals look to be a go...

"Sup Reg!"

Pretty trippy, there's now 3 Airmen at my Guard unit that go by "Reg." Forgive me for being so easily amused, but I just get a real kick out of callin' other people "Reg." Probably 'cause it happens so infrequently since "Reg" isn't as prolific as it is in "jolly ol' England"...

I can't help but wonder what kind of "medications" my parents indulged in right before they decided to give me the snooty English identifier "Reg" aka "Reggie" aka "Reginald." The latter is so 8th grade...

And, for reasons unbeknownst, "Reg[gie]" appears to be a popular moniker for dogs. Quite a conglomeration of people I've known throughout the course of the last handful of years have mentioned to me that they have a dog "Reg[gie]" or have a friend who's got a dog called "Reg[gie]." Weird-ness.

[*joke]

Q: How are Jesus Christ and "Reg[gie]" similar?

A: They are both "Man's Best Friend"...

It can't be stopped, it can only hope to be contained. =p

[*jobby-job]

Sold 2 brand spankin' glossy '04 Honda's this past week. Guess that's good for a guy who isn't directly in sales and doesn't have what you'd call a "salesy" personality...

[*word-of-the-day]

"UNSALESY." I hereby lay claim to this word. Word.

"Quarter-of-a-century!"

But now it's back to the 55 hr. / wk. capitalistic grind. Yup, I'm just a caterpillar Honda grunt patiently anticipating his turn to fly...

[*inspired by the big 2-5 / Mother's Day]

spread your love and fly...

all around the world statues crumble for me
who knows how long i've loved you
everywhere i go people stop and they see
25 years old, my mother God rest her soul...

i just want to fly
put your arms around me baby
put your arms around me baby
i just want to fly
put your arms around me baby
put your arms around me baby...

dance a little stranger
show me where you've been
love can make you hostage
wanna do it again...

there's no time to think
'bout to start it all again
we'll find out i'm sure
my mother she told me so...

i just want to fly
put your arms around me baby
put your arms around me baby...

i just want to fly
i just want to fly
i just want to
fly...

[*EBA b-ball season]

Our team took the last game of the season 48-36 against the Orange squad. I scored 8 points, despite a mild case of nagging left-knee tendinitis. 3-1 record goin' into the play-offs!

[*sagacious graffiti sighting]

Near the intersection of Olive St. and Boren, on the light-blue side of a building. So simple, yet so eloquent...

On this day last year, I caught a flight back to Seattle after almost a year of active duty in the USAF. Can't believe its been that long, and that disbelief can only mean 1 thing...its been a fun, exciting [at times], relaxing last 12 months. And it has been. =p

[*b-ball nicknames]

Let's see, a quick run through of the names b-ballers have bestowed upon me. These are in semi-chronological order...

1. "all-star" 2. "jordan" 3. "hype" 4. "IMA scoring leader" 4. "hercules" 5. "Reggie Miller on crack" 6. "shooter"
7. "NASHTY" [ok, so this one's mine]

And the latest one as of yesterday? Get this...

"CHEST"

I don't think I need to elaborate too much other than it involves me playin' shirt-less and a constant 2 hr. per day, 5 day a wk. lifting routine at 24 Fitness this past year. I guess the nick-name means I'm doin' good things for the physique. Either that, or some cats just don't get out much... =p
