3.5 for Fighting...

Played OK Saturday, but the #2 in the 3.5 and the #4 in the 4.0 halted my run. Actually put in a much better performance in the 4.0, and I think if I played like that in the 3.5 I would've won that 1 handily. C'est la vie...

Lookin' ahead to the Boeing Labor Day Tennis Tourney which starts this Thurs. I'll be gunnin'...

"I don't train for sprints, I train for marathons"...

Won my 1st round 3.5 match today, 6-1, 6-1! Weapon definitely felt lethal. On to the 2nd round of the 3.5 and 4.0. Bring it on, Saturday marathon!

The Bellevue Tourney...

Won my 1st round 4.0 match tonight...6-2, 6-2! The bread and butter [S. Edberg / P. Rafter hybrid 1-fisted backhand] definitely didn't disappoint...

I play the 1st round 3.5 match 8:00pm Friday, and if I end up gettin' the W there, I'll be scheduled for 2 matches this Saturday [8am and 4pm]. And if I manage to pull out W's fr. those 2 Saturday matches, I'll also be playin' at 12pm and 8pm... on that Saturday!

At this point I just hope I'll be able to walk at the end of this Saturday's potential marathon. Hydration / the "banana" / "Powerbar" are keys...

"O-u-c-h!"

Ichiro got beaned in the head tonight, and reportedly the sound of the impact could be heard in the upper deck of Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium. That's practically the equivalent of gettin' cracked on the noggin w/ a sledgehammer at point blank range! Luckily it him him on the back of his helmet. At last report, he suffered a mild concussion and won't be able to play Thursday. At .367, he's currently tops the MLB in BA, on pace to break the MLB record for hits in a season, and it'd be a cryin' shame if a freak incident like this affected his play. Ichiro's tough, and I'm hopeful he'll bounce back...
